Sewer totes sizes...

Guess checking to see what the group suggests is a good size to use when it comes to sewer totes?
Thanks,
LJ

It depends on how strong you are. Just remember "pint is a pound world around" as the saying goes. So, a 35 gallon tote will be over 300#, can you handle that being full. Pick the range you can pull or lift.

Hear you on the weight...as mentioned its about 10 pounds a gallon...a fellow down the road has a little used 15gal for sale and just wondered if it would be worth picking it up for 100 bucks...

This one is under 200 bucks some here say it is the brand to buy.

Amazon.com: Thetford (40515) Smart Portable Waste Tote Tank with 4 Wheels - 27 Gallon Capacity: Automotive

This one is under 150 bucks.

Amazon.com: Tote-N-Stor 25609 Portable Waste Transport - 32 Gallon Capacity: Automotive

Found them here.

Amazon.com: rv waste tote

I would offer 75 bucks and see what the guy says.

I have the second one linked above because my black tank has a 30 gal capacity. I didn't want to try and stuff 30 gallons of pooh in a 25 gallon sack.

We use a 35. Can be dumped laying flat the way it's designed. Of course as it gets near empty you can pick it up to help it out a little. A little bulky, but the smaller one we had just wouldn't cut it and required too many trips.

I went a little overboard and got a 44 gallon with 4 wheels and a handle and side dump valve. It is a little big but I can dump my whole tank into it. I had a ten gallon one but had to be really careful on how full you fill it.
We are now going to be full timers at an RV park so it will have to go into storage.

I think the size of my current one is about 35gal. Its one with a metal drawbar with a ring that goes over your hitch ball.

I've learned never to actually tow it that way - the dump stations are generally too far away. The first one I had, the back wheel came off on the very first use, dropped on the road and ground the bottom off. With the current one, the ring bounced off the hitch once and it ended up in the ditch.

I also have a FloJet waste-water pump, and now put the tank in the bed of the truck with the wheels in the slot between the lowered tailgate and bed. In fact my buddy has a similar tank and we put them side by side, pump them both full and drive to the dump station. Makes fast work of an unpleasant job.
