Side supports...

Good Day to all and HAPPY SPRING!

As we in Alberta are having a great Spring weekend (they are calling for snow next week!) my oldest son decided to bring his 5er over to our house to "set up" and clean out as he just purchased it a few weeks ago.
As we all have been there, he has many questions about Rving...
So far I've been able to answer most of them but here's one I couldn't:
Should a person use supports on there sides when they are extended?
Didn't know what to say as I've thought about them but have not used them myself....
Thoughts?

Do a search here on forums. General answer is always ...NO!!!
If for any reason the rv "settles, soft ground, flat, ect, rig goes down but supported slides don't, probably causing big big bucks in repairs to slides.
Don't need em, don't use em. Just another usless gadget someone came up with to seperate you from your money.

Check the manual some if not all manufactures will void the warranty if slide is damaged due to a support of some type.

NO!

I don't know of any RV manufacturer that recommends them, most warn against them.

Slide supports are leftovers from the early days of slideouts, when the technology was new and there were many issues.

Modern slideouts shouldn't need them.
