Silverback 29 RE is "Off Line" and ready to ship to AZ

However, factory said there is a shortage of drivers in Indiana, so it sits...... Is this common? Anything we should look for at the PDI?

Hate waiting :-(

Check for ripping of the fabric underneath the rear slides. sometime it rips and they have a fix the dealer installed on mine. That is all I found on ours. besides that normal PDI stuff,. It is a great trailer we love ours!

I'm putting a link to a thread on this forum about an opening by the front landing gear. Read the thread and then be sure to look for this when you do your PDI. Here's the link to that thread http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...9re-31851.html

Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for delivery of your 29RE. It's really a great floorplan and trailer.

Our 2012 Silverback 29rk had the rear slide fabric ripping out on the aft end of the dinette slide. We found a piece of the fabric inside by the refrig and further investigation found more of it hanging down from looking at it from outside.

The unit is at our dealers for some warranty work and this is one of the things to be repaired.

A little birdie told me that the FR method of installing the fabric to the underside of the slide is inferior to the method used by some other RV manufacturers, but FR cannot use that method because it is covered by a patent. However, our dealer can use that method on our unit because it is installed after the unit was manufactured.

We will see.

We haven't picked by our unit from the dealer yet

Congrats on your new Silverback. Lots more campers ready to head to dealers than there are drivers. Weather will also play a big part. I know it's hard but just be patient, at least you know it's off the line.

I guess I got lucky...Back in early Dec mine offlined and was delivered to the dealer in Tucson in 5 days. This time of year I would think the drivers would love to get out of the snow and come on down to the desert.

Congrats on your new Silverback! May you have many a happy nights campin!

Waiting is hard but that is all part of the excitement of getting a new trailer. When we brought ours home we cooked and slept in it on the drive, that night, we were so excited!

I know what you mean! We are still in "new owner euphoria" ourselves.

In my case the not hearing what was going on became quite comical. Check out my "waiting is hard to do" thread: http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...-do-32356.html

Which dealer did you buy through? In our case it wasn't the factory who contracted the transport it was the dealer. not sure if that's standard or not though.

We had visited CW in Mesa. We had a very good experience with them but they didn't have a trailer that wowed us.

They have a much better rep now than when they were Earnhardt RV.

Have faith..It'll be here soon!!

We traded our Wildcat 28RK for the Silverback 29RE in Greeley, CO late last summer. We loved the "CAT" but are also excited with the Silverback. Won't use it much until summer when we take our annual Odyssey of about 4 months traveling the intermountain west. Love it so far! An odd hole near the front landing gear as Oakman indicated. Puzzling? Rest is fantastic. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours too! Good luck on the wait.

Our unit was already in production when we purchased from the dealer. We were able to add upgrades, however, we couldn't change the color scheme.
It's been four weeks....longest four weeks ever!!

Look at the cabinets in the bedroom mine and a couple others on the lot had chipped veneer by the floor. Also the cabinet doors were all out of square the dealer fixed them easily just had to adj. the hinges. Also get your wallet out the small halogen lights are expensive to replace and the original ones only lasted a few weeks. I believe the guys are installing them with their bare hands at the factory. I replaced them wearing rubber gloves and they have been in ever since. They cost about 8-10.00 each to replace. had a few other minor issues but they aren't coming to my head right now. Enjoy your new unit We are loving ours.
