Silverback filling fresh water tanks

2013 Cedar Creek Silverback. Is there any way to fill fresh water tank from 5 gal water cans. My unit apears to only permit from a hose with outside pressure. Larry 6/2/13

Yes, use the winterization tube.

The winterization tube is on the suction side of the water pump...same as the feed from the fresh water tank. How will that fill the tank?

Is there a diverting valve on the city water connection to fill the fresh water tank?

Sorry, I did not elaborate. Connect the utility shower/hose to the water inlet. Open the cold water valve fully. Place the winterization siphon tube in the water bucket. Adjust valves appropriately for winterization. Turn City - Fresh water selector valve to Fresh. Turn on Pump. Voila! When the bucket is empty, reset all valves for normal operation. This works for sanitizing as well.

Hope this helps.

I used a 5 gallon tank from Wally World, modified the spout with plastic fittings to allow a short garden hose. Fill tank, raise above fill connection with ladder connect to fill (hose connector) and open valve on WW tank. Only needs gravity, not pressure to transfer.

I went and bought a $30 water pump from Harbor Freight and I bought a 10 foot water hose and cut it in half and bought a $2 fitting to make 2 small hoses. Works pretty good. They have models that run off of 12 volt or 120 volt. I bought the 12 volt model because of the battery being close.

My solution

Thanks to all. My solution -- I put the winterization hose in the 5 gal tank of water, and set it on the ledge inside the compartment. The pump only comes on when there is a draw of water. When you take a shower or use the sink, the pump comes on and pumps from the 5 gal tank

That's only a partial solution to your OP. But, if your happy with 5 gal cap, you're in business. Happy Camping.

I like the idea of your switch and your aux 12 volt hookup that goes to your wiring. Where did you find your 12 volt hook up?
