Silverback Owners

Just curious pros and cons, looking at 37FLK. Appreciate your thoughts on the line.

Have had our 2016 33IK since June of 15. You can expect the normal run of the mill issues, as with any manufacturer. Every problem we had while under warranty was taken care of without issue. The only complaint I have is the ceiling AC ducts are made using blue styrofoam they expand and contract which causes some noise.

If your really consider purchasing, I would insist on upgraded tires as the factory installed ones seem to be good for one season then need replaced.

The unit we currently own has been great. I'd recommend the Cedar Creek brand to anyone I know. Compared to the last 5er (SOB) we had, this one has been near perfect.

We have a 18 33IK and love it, we love the roominess that the cathedral slide adds to the living area.

We have a 2017 29IK and we love it. Good living space and storage. Tows well with a F350 diesel. Our main TV is on the back wall which is visible from the kitchen.
No major problems have popped up.

Do some research on a forum not operated by Forest River. Customers who've had problems have run into a lack of response from Cedar Creek and forest river. Look for YouTube videos.

And other customers of CC have had nothing but amazing response from the factory, and say so on other non-FR forums.

And this Forum is NOT operated by Forest River.

BandJCam, can you recommend a means of contacting the factory? I've left messages on all customer service numbers as well as emails and gotten nothing.

Who are you emailing? What number are you calling? And forgive me, but this does matter......what are you saying? And what problem are you bringing up?

dldavis@forestriverinc.com ......... Denise Davis is the Warranty Manager. She answers me. It takes a while, she's very busy.
260-593-4000. Leave a message. You can wait on hold, but it is a long wait. I'd leave the 'nicest' message I could.

I do admit that in the last 2 years since I bought mine, they've turned out a zillion units.....and there are more of 'us' to call the same sized warranty group. But I get a response.

Thanks, I will try that. I'm at work at the moment so I don't know the names and numbers but Camping World gave me contact info for several cedar creek reps after my messages on their general phone number for customers went unanswered.

You asked what I called about. Missing insulation, disconnected drain pipes, holes in the floor, missing window seals. Melted backsplash when I turned on the stove. Long list really.

Well.......you did ask, and so I'm going to answer......and if you don't like the answer, I can understand. But if Camping World is involved in any way, that's probably the problem. I would never again bother them, and you might get something done.

The numbers/email I gave is for Cedar Creek direct. If you're calling/emailing somewhere else, that's the issue I'd guess.

And I can tell you just an opinion.....from first hand discussions.......there are those that are ......let's say "adamant".....in their calls and those that catch more flies with honey. The latter group gets better treatment.

I wouldn't try and list my problems in a litany on a voice mail. I'd just say "I have a long list, some of which relates to safety issues, and I'd very much like to have a conversation with you", or some such.

My two cents. I know many, many CC owners.......travel with them all over.....several are in California......and they love CC mostly because of the support we get.
