silverback water filter

Picked up our new 2015 Silverback 29re. I could not find the water filter, after looking all over I called The manufacture and was told they are no longer installing the water filter even though it is in the brochure. I was told to read the small print on the brochure and they can change anything anytime. .... Not a happy camper

Count yourself lucky...the filters Forest River installs are a nightmare to many, and several of us have removed them. They have unscrewed themselves in many people's units and have done a fair bit of damage...just search posts on here on the subject...there is enough to make your head spin. I removed ours as soon as I got the new trailer home, before ever putting any water through the system.

Not to worry, denville. I still have mine, have had no problems with it, and I use it. But as soon as I run out of the replacement filters I got cheap at FROG Rally, I'm gonna replace it with an inexpensive in-line filter, like the ones they have at Wally World. The replacement filters for the OEM one are too dad-gummed expensive!

Just go to Walmart and get the in-line variety. I know many folks who have done that and are happy.

You can buy replacement filter cartridges at any big box store for as little as ten dollars for a two pack. Expensive? No, not by a long shot. The only down side to a whole house filter system is the reduced water flow. Mine got moved to under the kitchen sink very early in life. Never been a problem

Thanks everyone, it was just a surprise to find it missing. It is still listed on the web site. It would have been nice to just throw one in that I could connect inline instead for just omitting it all together. Just saying. Everything else looks and works great

I'm surprised the dealer didn't offer to give you an inline filter to keep one of his customers happy. Those things aren't that expensive.
