Slide Pan
Does anyone have slide pans on there Cedar Creek slides? Someone told me that the slide pans were needed to keep out water. When I get home I have to buy a heat gun and take out the old caulking and put in new. Always something to fix on Creek

No I had not heard about them either but a man that worked at Cedar Creek was telling me about them. He told me it took a hour and a half per slide. He is going to do some work on my camper next year. He is booked up now until February, his first name is Orville.

The techs at the rally mentioned a guy for service work that used to work at Cedar Creek.
I forgot the name, is that Orville?

Gezzzzz, how dumb was I?? I put a very nice slide topper roll awning on my Wildcat 12' slide just last week when all I needed was to 'rob" some browny pans from the kitchen cabinets!

I just had my 2015 Silverback at the factory for major work. While it was there I asked Denise about a slide topper for the big kitchen slide ( flat roof). I was willing to pony up $$$ for factory install. She said IT CANNOT BE DONE AFTER BUILD. They install stronger interior supports at BUILD to ensure topper does not fail and screw up gel coat.
Just a heads up for those thinking about a post delivery install. You MIGHT void your warranty. After warranty, it's on you anyway.
Just say'n...........

I totally agree!!!!! It's a lot more expensive to build two models of slides/sides for the same RV. One for slide topper attachment and one without! Denise needs to go "back to school"!

This is 100% correct. I just had my CC at Orvan's shop last week having the caps replaced. While there I had the slide pans installed on all my slides. IMO, absolutely worth the money to keep the water out. My father's CC has a few slides that took a little water on and warped the slides floor. The slide pans would have prevented this. Call Orvan at Amish Family RV Service. Unfortunately my CC is now in storage in South Carolina so I can't take any pictures of it but I'll see if my father can take pictures of his (he had Orvan install them about a month ago) and then i'll post them on here!

I don't know why she would tell you that. Unless they've changed it in the last year or two Cedar Creeks without the factory installed toppers still have the rail factory installed above the slides to make it easier to install the toppers later. Assuming the brackets are positioned correctly on the slide wall they screw into framing regardless of whether the are installed at the factory or later.
Maybe the factory just doesn't want to be in the business of installing aftermarket options after the production build?
