Spice cabinet in 38FL

Does anyone else with a new 38FL have the same issue with their spice cabinet? My dealership and Forest River have told me this is how the spice rack is designed. I sure hope not! Notice the top rack is totally useless.

I would think they're supposed to stand upright, not laying down.

They kept falling out while traveling, so we laid them down. My point is the top shelf, the rails run down both sides, so you can not put anything on the shelf. FR said that is how it's designed. I find that hard to believe.

We use the spice rack in ours to hold the K cups for the Keurig. I don't think we need spices enough to fill the spice rack.

Must be unique to 38FL. I have a 36CTKS and the racks are all space the same distance apart. Don't have problem with them falling over either. The ones in the picture lying down are the larger size bottles. The standard McCormick size fit perfect.

It's quite obvious what the difference is.

Here's what I did with the totally useless racks on each side of the stove.

The one on the left side now holds pot holders, gloves , and baking/grilling sheets.

The one on the right holds cutting boards and 1 spice shelf. The shelf is for extra spices. I also built a spice rack under microwave so the DW didn't have to pull a drawer out to get spices.

Excellent idea C.B. Exactly why I joined this forum. Thanks, Roy

We've got a 38FL and ours is like yours - evenly spaced. We like the one on the left side of the sink that holds all our large kitchen knives as well
