Tailgater/antenna

For those of you with a CC and using a Tailgater, is it possible to switch to the installed antenna when you want it? I know there's a subscription to an over-the-air antenna available through Dish, but wondered if I could still use my own antenna connection on the same TV. Also, can you watch Dish on one TV, and use the antenna on the other TV? What do you do about ABC/NBC, etc.

Yes you can watch over-the-air on one television and satellite on the other. Having the antenna booster on doesn’t interfere with the satellite connection. You can also switch back and forth between antenna and satellite on the same television because the inputs are different. While traveling we would use the antenna for local stations and Dish for the cable stations. This really came in handy during threatening weather.

With Dish you can call and give them the address your at and they will give you the local channels. That is another option.

Dish vs antenna

Yes, Dish provides local programming/weather. However! Very thick clouds, associated with storms, may block the sat signal. Hence, your roof antenna may save your bacon - or your camper!
