Tire issue

I have maybe 200 miles on my new 33RL. Washing it today and to my surprise I'm missing a big section of thread of one of the tires. Has anyone else had success with warranty to replace all 4 tires. I simply don't trust the other 3 at this point.

Tire issue

Replaced with the same tire brand doesn't sound good. See if can get a credit towards a decent tire like the carlisle radial trail rh.

If these are junk the next batch won't be any better, Take what you can get, if anything and buy a set of Maxxis tires. Nothing else will do

I suggest you contact your dealer and have them contact FR. If that does not work step 2 is to contact FR warranty yourself. Be calm, rational yet firm. I have full confidence that FR will take care of this for you.

My 2nd suggestion is that you install a TPMS. So when they change your rubber, make sure they install metal valve stems.

Safe travels,
Ducky

Be sure to record the full DOT serial and file a complaint with NHTSA. It seems possible that the tire importers are playing gamed with the regulations and might be keeping the quantity of tires below the threshold when they have to inform NHTSA of the adjustment rate.
Can't be completely sure but it looks like contamination between the top belt and tread rubber. I would think this is not a one off. Also do not think the failure was caused by anything the owner might have done.

Double King tires wear out doubly fast. Seriously though, just work with the dealer/FR to make it right, but I doubt they'll spring for a better brand. Maxxis, Goodyear 614s and Sailuns are much better tires if you can get them in your size.

X2 Reporting it should be mandatory, if there is no reports they are considered safe and you know the answer to that.

Well I'm getting new Maxxis 8008 put on in the AM. Had Marathons always liked them, last trip a belt went and and I had to get it replaced, this trip to Mayberry Rally a chunk came out in the wear strip and the metal I guess radial strip punched it out, so I'm trying a new brand..,.

If you still have ST tires on that big of a 5er you are just asking for problems... if you are under 14K lbs gross then go with an E rated truck tire..over they look at G rated tires like Goodyear G614's....ST tires are not good for that kind of weight and the speeds of todays highways...

So, did you get Maxxis or Hercules? One post said Maxxis and another said Hercules.

Cut your losses and buy some Maxxis 8008's, highly recommended here. Why have the dealer reinstall the same china bombs?

Well forest river came trough and offered me 50% back on 5 new tires. I choose Carlisle and are already installed including spare. Just waiting my reimbursement cheque from forest river. Awesome service from both my dealer and forest river.

Glad FR took action. If you recorded the tire DOT serial it also would be good to file complaint with NHTSA on the "tread delamination" tire failure. Many times this type of failure simply does not make it into the NHTSA database and with out sufficient numbers there will never be any action from NHTSA.

If you do not have the DOT then it may not be of value as that is a key bit of information DOT needs. Everyone should have a record of the DOT of all their tires written down. This will help you know if you are involved if there is ever a tire recall in the future.
