Tire Monitoring for a Silverback 29RE

Any thoughts or reviews for the system below? Is there a real need? Thanks.

I had the TST 507 w/ flow thru sensors on my
36CKTS. It was instrumental in finding
a slow leak due to a hole in the wheel.

It's now on our MH and 2 more sensors on the
way.

IMO, when I finally am able to spring for a tire pressure system - the TST brand is who it'll be.

I have the tst 507 on mine and love it. Great piece of mind that I never had before

A tpms system is number two on my list for 2014, I am thinking about the TST internal system. I had a 2500HD Silverado and it had the internal system on it and I like them because I am always getting to close to the curb.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Just ordered the TST 500 through the manufacturer. It's all about safety! Happy New Year!

I was looking at TST 507 internal TPMS but now I think I will go with the screw on type, I would have to break down each tire and that would cost more money. It would be a pain to set the tires right again after the tires were rotated, I think with the screw on type it is easer after the tires have been rotated. I have found the TST system at Tweety's for $400 for 8 sensors, is that a good price or do you know something better, that's with free shipping

Check out http://tsttruck.com, we saved over $100 going with them, we got free shipping and a 2-year warranty.
Very happy with their service and product.

I don't have metal valve stems on my C/C, at least I don't think I do, so Ducky do you think the 507 flow through is better than the regular 507 TST. Is it hard to take the regular 507 off when you air up the tire, I do rub the curb every so often. Need some advice

You should not mount external sensors on rubber valve stems.
Soooo, when you have the tire shop put metal stems in(aka heavy duty),
have them use 30mm shorties and you will not hit the sensor. That would be bad.

I have a TST system. It has not been problem free but I will say the people at TST will bend over backwards to make you a happy customer..That goes a long ways in my book.

Disagree and so do the pros at TST (Trucking System Technology |TST Trucking Systems) I specifically asked Mike Benson (the VP) and he said there are NO issues mounting their TPMS on rubber valve stems

My unit is a 507. I'm on the third monitor, and have had a couple sensors replaced. My last monitor would not accept the sensors when I went to program it. Another one had a button fall off. The sensors just quit working. I have since purchased a booster that I haven't tried yet to help with the signal from the sensors, hopefully this will fix my problems. I know of several others that have had very good luck, so maybe it's just me. They are always willing to take a call or let me send it back for repairs/replacement. Fast turn around time. I would buy from them just based on the great service.

The recommendation I made was derived from info I received from
a higher source. Sooooo, in the interest of accuracy, I sent an e-mail
to that individual and referenced your statement. When I receive a reply
I will post the response.

Regardless of TST's response, I stand by my post as it was a recommendation
to a specific individual in response to a specific request.
Therefore it really does not matter whether you can or cannot mount the sensors on rubber stems it's whether you should or should not within the narrow scope of the specific situation I responded to.

As Promised... Here is a quote from the head Pro in response
to my inquiry;
"I do believe that in the short term, they will be fine on a rubber valve stem
that is in good condition but believe there is still always a risk that the
additional weight will create a vibration that MAY cause the valve stem to
prematurely wear. I have used the sensors on new rubber valve stems for a
period of 14 months in which the trailer they were on was towed some 6000 -
7000 miles. The valve stems still appeared to be ok but I did not get an
opportunity to inspect them closely at the time they were swapped out.
The length of the valve stem may also be a factor."

He also mentioned that they are discussing the issue so there may be some
additional feedback. So in conclusion, can you put the 507 flow thru sensors
on rubber valve stems? Sure you can. But should you? I'm still
thinking not. FYI, I never asked about the cap sensors which are heavier.

I was thinking about the internal TPMS but I now I heard that the Goodyear G614 RST tires I want to put on camper with all that steel in the tires might be hard on a signal. So since I have to break the tires down anyway to install metal stems I may as well save some money and go with the screw on type. I plan to buy a set at the end of the month

Thanks Ducky
