If you don't want a greasy mess you need the teflon plate.

Can you tell us what the factory charged you for the TrailAir?

Yes I would use a teflon plate. It is designed to reduce the friction and wear between the hitch and trailer pin box regardless of whether it's a Trail Air or not. Without the Teflon plate you still have metal to metal contact.

They charged us the rally price, I don't know if that's what they are charging everyone. We were treated very nice at Cedar Creek yesterday, the hitch was $578. As always I am treated more as a friend at Cedar Creek than a customer, if I should ever buy another camper I'll look no further than Cedar Creek.

We have a 2005 Cardinal with a TrailAir pin box. After pulling this rig for 40,000 miles I would never have any other brand of pin box. And yes, you needs lube plate regardless of pin box brand.

That's good to know how well they treat you as I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a 29RE CC Silverback Edition

The exception is a slider hitch that uses a capture plate....Pullrite
