Trojan vs US battery?

I have had very good luck with US batteries. I can not compare the 2 as I have never had a Trojan.

Unfortunately there is no real definitive place to get emperical data on deep cycle batteries .In general though, the heavier the battery within your group, the more likely the battery will perform. It's even difficult to determine performance between users, because of the different battery loads placed on each battery (i.e. boondocking vs. Jellystone Pk)

I suggest you read up on deep cycle batteries, as there is excellent advice on how they function and proper maintenance.

I replaced my Trojan T-105 batteries after eleven years with new Trojans. They still worked fine, but I was going on a long, expensive trip and didn't want to push my luck with eleven year old batteries.

I have never used US batteries.

I use a four stage Progressive Dynamics converter to keep them properly charged.

You will not beat a Trojan battery, the difference is the cost, IMO they are the best on the market. But very expensive. It up to you but like I said they are the best that I have found. It is also depends on what kinda of camping you do. Boondocking nothing better, CG any true deep cycle would do. Or even interstate duel will work well for many years.

Based on this and Trojan's long history of quality and customer satisfaction...I'd give the edge to Trojan. Probably hard to go wrong with either brand though! I like the EastPenn/Deka's myself in a 12V for value/performance. Marine Master batteries that have DC in the model # are their true deep cycle models...Avoid those with DP (dual purpose) in the model number.

I installed 4 US batteries and a single point watering system. They are performing great and keeps our residential fridge cold while traveling. Most batteries will perform well if you maintain them properly.

Pro-Fill system. Works great, just place the hose in a gallon of distilled water and pump until bulb is hard.
