Truck Bed cover with 5'er hitch

Does anyone have the rollup pickup bed cover and a 5'er hitch? If so, which one?

What do you guys do for storage in back of pickup?

I'm considering the B&W Patriot hitch and a Retrax Pro bed cover. Anyone know of issues with that combination?

Thanks again. I appreciate all the info here.

Bill

I use a Truxedo cover. Roll up, light weight and has 3 support rails. Works great on my Ford Super Duty.

I have a Lund roll up cover over a Husky 16k hitch with a low level tool box in front of the hitch. Everything stays out of the weather unless towing. If hauling supplies I remove the hitch. 2006 GMC Sierra 2500 HD short bed.

I recently bought a Bak Flip G2 and just had my hitch installed last Saturday. I have not put the cover back on yet, but I am supposed to be able drive with it in the folded up position. I would not want it folded all the way to the rear window, but if I can tow with it folded just ahead of the hitch I will be happy.

BAKFlip G2 Tonneau Covers Review

I hope to find out soon.

We had the same tonno which kept our hitch in pristine condition.

X2. Mine is a Ford accessory roll up cover same as the Truxedo TruXport. (Previous owner had a 5th wheel hitch in the bed.) It works great and can support the weight of a lot of snow in the winter while remaining flexible.

The Companion costs a lot more than the Patriot. I was about to get the Patriot. You may not know, but do you possibly know if the Patriot sticks up too high (and your Companion doesn't)??????

No idea. I never considered the Patriot as I didn't want rails.

BUT- I've contacted B&W on 4 or 5 occasions and they're always super helpful and knowledgable. Ask them directly.

You can.

When I had my TT, I had a Leer cap but sold it after getting the 5er (too much hassle even though I had rigged up a lift system in my garage). I got a Bak G2 FiberMax (4 sections on a 6.5' bed). I tow with the back 3 sections folded on the front-most section and its great - still covers my tool bin, fuel cans, generator, etc. I looked at roll-ups but don't like soft covers or the price (and loss of box space) with the hard roll-ups.

I have the Pace Edwards Jackrabbit and it is the best cover I have ever had. A little pricey but after having it almost a year now I think it's worth it. Check it out. http://www.pace-edwards.com/jackrabbit

I have the roll and lock( Roll-N-Lock Truck Bed Covers | Quality Tonneau Covers ) and like it because they were one of the few, where the cover housing is rather shallow enabling you to put in a taller objects underneath the housing. I have an approx 40 gal aux tank below it and in front of the fifth hitch in a short bed ram. My only drawback is the slide cover runs inside a channel on each side of the box and freezes into place with snow melt.

I have the Patriot and the Retrax with no problem. The Patriot is very adjustable.

Thanks guys.

B&W answered.......either one will work with the Retrax. I don't mind the rails, so will probably get the Patriot.

Thanks again.
