TV/AV HDMI wiring question

Just got our Champagne!! ❤️ Have some questions we can't find in any of the manuals:
1. Is there a way to make the TV audio come out of the Jensen stereo?

2. There are 2 HDMI cables coming out of the TV; what are they plugged into on the other end?

3. There is an HDMI outlet plate behind the TV; where does that go/what does it do?

If yours is wired like ours, the good folks at Cedar Creek wired the Composite audio in to the Jensen audio out. You'll need to run an optical cable from the TV to the Jensen. Easy to do if you tape the optical to the red/white RCA and pull gently. You'll need to pull the Jensen and open the fireplace.

The HDMI 1 goes the Jensen. HDMI 2 is the wall HDMI.

STill working on ours, but really disappointed in the low tech implementation.

I just ran a 3.5mm patch cord between the TV headphone jack to the Jensen's front input jack, then chose the front input jack as the source.

We removed the composite cables from the Jensen system and attached an optical cable to the back of the TV. I also attached the wall HTML cable to the back of the TV so that if I install a Dish box I can attach the HTML to the wall and not have to re-pull the TV.

Does anyone know if you can sync the Samsung and Jensen controllers so that you can use one controller to control the TV and sound volume through the Jensen? Guessing a third-party controller...

I don't have a Champagne, but do have a Jensen........and I just turn the little Jensen remote via menu to ARC (Audio Return Channel) and TV sound comes through the radio speakers. I didn't hook any wiring up other than the way it came.........but I don't have two HDMI cables in TV either.

The JWM9a in the 38EL doesn't support ARC.

Just select HDMI ARC source on the Jensen should do it. TV is already wired HDMI on our 2017 34RL.

Jim, what is your source? Were you told that by ASA Electronics, or is it your experience from trying to get it to work?

I scrolled through the input sources on the head unit and ARC was not a choice. I am wondering if the HDMI cable between the JWM9A head unit and the JE4815 TV is connected to the wrong HDMI connector on the TV. I see now, in the manual, that only HDMI1 is labeled as ARC on the JE4815 TV.

The only reference to ARC I see in the JE4815 manual is on page 17 "Parts Identification Back View". Zoom in to see the label on HDMI1, "HDMI1 (ARC)". HDMI 2 and 3 are NOT labeled "ARC".

The JWM9A manual does mention ARC several places.

I can't get to my TV until spring when I pull the FW out of storage and I can open the slides.

Well, I found the confusion.

There are 2 JWM9a manuals. One is 2015 and the other 2016. And yes, the 2016 DOES show support for ARC.

So using the 2016 manual, I found HDMI ARC in the menu. But, my Samsung does not support ARC. So I'm still outta luck

I'm now jealous of those of you with a TV with HDMI ARC.

Thanks for the update.

I'll check how mine is wired next spring. I hope I can get ARC to work. The rear firing speakers on the Jensen TV are no good.
