TV plugged into 2013 CC 36ckts

Our new Cedar Creek was delivered to our seasonal site in 2013. We retired and are going south for winter. Are first hookup leaves my camper neighbor and I with a question. The campground power is off. My 4 six volts batteries would not run the 6 point level up system long enough to raise the jacks. I plugged the camper into my 2017 F350 platinum 6.7 Dually that came with Ford factory 5th wheel installed. Still no power to level up system, it said low voltage before it shut down. To check Trucks, we plugged in my neighbor 2017 F250 XLT 6.2 gas truck. And bam....everything in my camper had power!!! WHY??

We plugged his truck into his 2017 camper (not a CC) and nothing no power. He has one battery. We had to connect a battery pack to his battery to power his level up system.

Does anyone know what the heck going on?

I’ve read that level up system will run on TV power. Does on one truck, not on another?

Thanks for any insight.

Make sure there is a fuse in your trucks fuse block that powers your 12 VDC charge wire to the trailer. Some newer trucks (Chevy that I know of) do not always come from the factory with the fuse installed that charges your trailer via the 7 way plug.
The bigger question is why your 4 six volt batteries are not charged. They should raise and lower your jacks many times without even straining.
PS ... you should not rely on the charge wiring from your truck to constantly run your level up system. It will work in a pinch, but that 14 gauge wire on your truck will be well overmatched by constant use of the level up. Look at the size of wiring on your fiver going to the level up pump motor ... much larger than 14 gauge.

Sounds like you have at least one bad battery. Fix the obvious first. Also have you verified 12VDC at the plug? I know GM has a fuse that needs to be inserted before the trailer plug gets power

You most likely have a few things causing your problem. First being weak or bad batteries. How old are they? Second make sure the charge/power relay and fuse is installed on your truck. Ford normally ships them not installed. Third thing is that power feed wire to the 7 pin plug is only good for around 20 amps. Your level up system most likely needs more than that. I would guess it needs between 30 - 100 amps available.

Have you used the level up sense the unit was delivered? Motor and lubricant could be sticking.

Yes engine running. I’m pulling the 4 CC batteries today for service or replacement. Our Cc has never been moved until yesterday. I’m guilty of not servicing the batteries since new. The inside monitor always said full charge. They looked ok, maybe I’ll get lucky and they only need water and charging.

That make since about a bad battery. But my camper had full power on his truck only. My truck was no power.

For those of us with a 2017 Ford F series. I found a notice that may be helpful. I will try and attach it on the thread.

When hooked to shore power your battery lights on your control panel will always show full charge ... the converter will do that.
You need to verify the fuse is even in your trucks charge wire to the trailer.

Can you connect using jumper cables from your truck? These will carry much more amperage.
