Vizio Home Theater Soundbar found in many Cedar Creeks

My early 2014 Cedar Creek 34 RLSA came with one of these sound bars which is a piece of junk. When I can figure out how to get sound through it from the television I can't adjust the volume but just a small amount using the Vizio remote. If I mute it, it only stays muted for 3 seconds then comes back on. Several times while watching television the sound will just go off. The only way to get the sound back is turn the Vizio remote off the back on.
I love my Cedar Creek EXCEPT for this sound system, if you can even call it that.
What a POS they chose to put in a great 5 th., wheel.
Anyone else had problems with their Vizio sound bar? What did you do? It's a 300 mile round trip back to my dealer for warranty repair.

We will be replacing ours this year... It just isn't worth dealing with as you stated it is a POS.

We can't get the sound bar to work with the tv- only works with the radio and dvd player. Did you do anything special to get tv sound through the bar? We agree it's worthless.

It just has the basic red and white component cables going into the audio inputs on the television. Then, I think, you have to turn the television speakers off in the television settings.

Had to use the TV Manual and an iPhone to take pictures of the cable hook up in the back of the TV - found they were hooked up wrong. Once that was fixed need to go into the setup and turn off the TV Speakers.

I agree that the sound bar and car radio are crap. I am replacing mine with a Pioneer receiver and speakers + Yamaha subwoofer this coming weekend. I'll document the process and post it here for those interested.

Cheers,

Murray

Vizio

Mine was hooked up properly once I read the instructions it worked. Still it has poor sound quality. I had replaced my TV when I first bought my 36ckts with a really good Samsung and I have just be listening with the speakers from that. I have been thinking about a new sound bar but the one I want is Bose and I keep telling myself not to spend that much.

The Jenson tv and audio system we got (no sound bar built in speakers) in are 3/14 cottage crs are junk. The a/v system doesn't even have blue-ray for the money you pay Wake Up FR. Have already replaced the bedroom tv from 28 TO 40", WILL BE REPLACING the audio system a home receiver with 2 zones sometime soon . The speakers are ok for now. Being an AV person IMO Bose is overpriced and not vary accurate sounding. Lay-tire

I put in a Denon AVR-E300 sound receiver. What a difference! I plan to go full time soon and wanted something I could be happy with. I'm happy!

I have a Demon 3808 ci I would like to put in but i only have 15" or so wide and it's 17" + . It would be a total redo of the cabinets to put it in so I'm looking for a receiver with a smaller footprint. Besides my Demon would be overkill for what I need. Joe ga did you upgrade your speakers?

I'll be putting a full sized Pioneer receiver starting this weekend. I had to carefully remove the middle shelf to the left of the fireplace in preparation for the receiver to go in there on its side. The Yamaha subwoofer will also go in there on its side, next to the receiver. I'll use an IR extender and put the IR receiver behind the glass door above. I rerouted the two speaker cables that feed the outside speakers to that space as well so I'll be able to route sound to the inside, outside, or both. I am going to use the space on the right where the car radio used to be to put in a home theater (laptop) pc in a docking station and use a wireless keyboard and mouse. Finally, I am going to start with two bookshelf speakers sitting on the shelf on either side of the TV, which I'll stow when travelling. The receiver has a simulated surround mode so we'll see how that pans out. I may see if I can rewire the "soundbar" that's there to make it into a center channel, otherwise I'll take it out and build my own speaker to fill that space. Should be a fun project!

I plan to move the entertainment center on my 30RL to the back of camper and install a good receiver and a subwoofer and wireless speakers. The Vizio sound bar maybe I can sell

poofam, I did not replace my speakers and it sounds amazing good! That said, I will eventually replace them. Since my Denon or Demon is also 17" wide, I could not get it in the entertainment console. I built a shelf above the console on the right side. It sits about 5 inches above since I have a blue ray unit sitting below it. The shelf is secured to the console and the receiver is strapped to the shelf. If you desire pics, I could go out and take some.

I don't have a pic but look up a 2014 Cedar Creek 40CRS Destination, you will see it's a full wall e-center, under the tv is were the Jenson sound system and the built in speakers are on both sides of it. Wife would NEVER let me put Denon on the counter, Any way I'll think of something. I looked up your layout and understand what you did, a nice pair of Paradigm Atom monitor or Mirage OMD-5 speakers not cheap but $200. MSRP Each not a pair. But you would be rockin need matching sub $? . 4:45 am will be here soon Lay-tire
