Warranty parts

Is it normal for it to take more then 5 weeks to get warranty replacement parts, our CC needs a new door and was told by my dealer it will take more then 5 weeks to get it.

Had to have a new baggage door replaced earlier this year and it did take ~2-3 weeks to get it received. Most other parts we have received within a week or so. But these have all been small hardware parts.

took me 3 months to get a bath tub for my tracer last year.
Most of that time was the dealer and factory not agreeing on labor hours to do the work.

I am in the process of having a baggage door replaced and I just received confirmation of the door being ordered this past Friday. Prime Time informed my dealer that it would be up to 2 weeks before it shipped. Not sure of why, but since it isn't mission critical I am not going to whine too much.

I just did not want to be towing my trailer to the dealer in the snow, I hate cleaning that mess.

NEVER believe what the dealer is telling you.
often they wait until they get enough parts orders together, to save shipping costs and always blame the manufacturer on the delay.

i'd call FR parts dept. and see if your dealer has even put the order in.

Yes I was thinking of doing just that. Also I do not trust my dealer at all.

IMHO, parts inventory and supply chain management is a major problem within the RV industry. I have experienced this with a slide facia, drawer pull, wheel and a reading lamp. Some things were available in short order. Others took Months! We got lucky with the wheel when Lionshead found one not listed on inventory. Otherwise, we would have waited until one was made in China and shipped via the proverbial slow boat. I had experienced worse parts support from Jayco. That's one of the main reasons we don't have a Pinnacle. I did not get results thru the dealer so I called the factory. Parts were shipped the next day. In your case, you can call CC parts but you might get better results with customer service or warranty folks. Most folks I know, including myself, have received very good customer service from Cedar Creek. Other FR products may not have the level of support Cedar Creek owners enjoy. Maybe that's what is causing the Cedar Creek envy... LOL

I can relate to the long wait. I had a shore power cable failure allowing 240 volts into the coach. (2012 36RE). This was identified in July. The 240volts took out the Dirt Devil central vacuum system, the home entertainment system, remote control ckt-board for the fireplace, coffee pot, fan, and alarm clock. To date only the home entertainment head end, and shore cable has been replaced. We are like 8 weeks now waiting for the vacuum system! I am beginning to loose faith in Forest River.
