What are you pulling the 36CKTS with, size not brand

I have a 3500HD SRW and I found a good deal on a 36RE, trouble is I want to go full time. The 30RL is the same size as the 36CKTS. DW is going to quit work next year and then I plan to hit the road a lot. The 30RL is 34ft and the 36RE is 40ft, what should I do?

Well your missing a little info but, If you have a diesel and 18 or 20 inch wheels, you should be OK with that trailer. Your getting in dually range for full timing tho.

I really did not want to go with DRW, I got a good deal on my 12 Silverado diesel and I did not want to trade, I have 18in tires, I plan to spend about $10,000 bucks on the 30RL and the 36RE would already have what I want installed. Its just a thought, oh well thats what I wanted honest answers

Spock, Spock, Spock,
You know the 30RL is not the same size as the 36CKTS. You have had your 30RL for 1 year now and were planning some upgrades to make it fit your needs. So what happened since November when you wrote this:

The 36CKTS is nice and if I ever quit moving around a lot I am sure going to get one, there are one nice camper
?????

I'm guessing the Springtime getting ready to hit the road bug has bitten you again. Since you know that I have been there, done that, I will follow this thread for its entertainment value. I'm sure amazement and mystification awaits.
Thank you in advance...

BTW, My answer to your question is " One Ton".

Ducky

you are right the 30RL is not the same size as the 36CKTS, I got the 3500 at a good deal, $13,000 off the sticker of $50,000 at 0 percent interest for 72 months, that will not happen again. The 36RE has what I want on it but I can turn the 30RL into a baby 36RL, it will just cost about $10,000 . Spring is in the air, DW says we have a nice camper and to keep what we got, it just sounds like a real good deal on the 36RE

The only real difference you would feel from SRW to DRW would be stability with the dually. You can convert your truck to a dually and add fender flares or change the whole box. Or you can change out the whole rear end.
Other things would change as well but that is the quick simple info.
As long as your not maxing speed on the road there is no reason you can make the SRW work for you.

I plan to move the entertainment center from the corner to the rear of camper. I have to hire someone to build me a cabinet for the TV to fit in plus put in the fireplace. Then I have to move all the cables from where the TV is now to the rear. The real expense is putting two more windows in where the TV is now. Plus DW wants a cabinet so she can have more space for pots and pans, also somewhere else to put the trash instead of under the sink.

I have a 2013 36 CKTS and pull with a F350, SRW 20", 6.7L diesel and air bags. When I first picked up the CC I had a F250, SRW 20", 6.0L diesel. It was adequate but seemed underpowered in the mountains. I have traveled about 15 K miles since I got the CC and have experienced no problems with pulling or stability. With the air ride and air hitch I don't even feel it behind us on the road.

Tom Johnson has a good deal on the 36RE but I am going to have to pass, $63,631. The camper was $79,000 and Forest River will not make anymore 36RE but I will have to stick with what I have, the 36RE has got everything that I want in a camper but I am going to keep what I have and fix it up some. I think the reason Tom cut the price so much is FR has quit making the 36RE.
