Winegard G2 Plus Satellite Dish

Has anyone tried hooking up a Winegard G2 Plus to the satellite cabling in the water closet connections. I purchased one today and works fine when using just the 25 foot cable provided to the Winegard power inverter. When hooking up the 25 foot cable to the satellite connection it does not work. I know the wiring s good because it worked with my older Winegard satellite dish. I am thinking the voltage they are putting on the line is too weak once it makes it to the basement connection. Just wondering if anyone has the new G2 plus.

Well got this fixed. Mounted the power inverter in the basement and connected at the wall of the water basement. With this being just as it exits the RV to the antenna it now works. Problem resolved but there is no mention in the manual how to resolve so those purchasing this model may want to keep this in mind.

Setup to install winegard g2 plus

Sounds like got it installed and working. Can you explain how you got from basement satellite plug in and 110 into the water area of the RV. Also after wiring the inserter in basement is the direct tv receiver hooked in the living room to main tv or in basement with th inserter?

The dish 211 receiver is in the living room next to the tv. The part I am talking about is the box which injects power on the cable line so you have one connection to the dish and drives the automatic satellite finding. There appears to be a footage limitation on the distance the box can send to the dish.

Are these things not a PITA, royally!!
One my biggest aggravations in RV'ing is this DISH crap.

I have 2; 211Z's. Can NEVER get bedroom tv to connect properly.
I have the Pathways x2. Tv in main cabin works fine. Yes, I do select 2 TV's in the beginning search mode.

My dealer installed the Wingard Traveler on my new 38EL. He used the presided coax in the roof and fished controller wire via roof to closet at front door.

normally these portable type units can NOT be run through the coach's SAT INput since most RVs have at least one coax inline splitter, if not more, in the run of wiring - which causes problems with Satellite antenna signals. Running direct from the receiver to the Antenna with your coax cable is best, and I have run over 250' before with RG6 coax with no problems...

My receiver does run straight to the dish on the roof.
