Winterizing Question

Hi,
I have a 2014 Cedar Creek 32RL. How do I bypass the water filter in order to blow out the waterlines?

I do not like to put antifreeze in the water lines if I can avoid it.

Thanks.

If you are just going air the bypass is of no concern.

It is there to prevent antifreeze from getting it the water heater.

The air will not hurt the tank, just pull the plug or anode rod drain and let the air push what it can out.

Take the old filter element out and throw it away. Replace the canister sans filter, blow the likes out and pour a cup of anti freeze into each P trap and the toilet bowl. Unless you have a washer that should be all you need to do.

The OP referred to his water filter, not the water heater...would he not have to still remove the filter and empty the casing in order to blow air through?

When I blew air through our trailer it drained almost all the water from the filter bowl.

I use air to blow out the lines and the bowl, and now with the bypass kit I installed behind the filter housing I don't need to put any anti-freeze in to that filter housing. As stock the Cedar Creeks don't have a by-pass on the water filter housing. This also helps if the filter housing should crack, which they have been known to do...

Strongly suggest removing the filter canister and emptying it after you blow the lines. If you leave any water in the canister you are taking a big chance of it freezing and breaking.

I see my error and yes it will be better to remove the canister from the housing, put the bowl back on and then air it out.

Don't forget to also open up outside faucet. Also blow air through black tank flush
