Winterizing res frid

Hi I'm hoping someone knows what this valve is for. trying to figure out how to winterize the ice maker on my 33IK. This is a selonoid valve that is behind the rear wheel. I have blown out all the lines , there is not a drop of water in the ice maker tray, it's been shut off for about 5 weeks. I think this may be the water supply shut off but not sure. Any thoughts would be great.

This is the push pull valve for water to the ice maker. Notice the small line that goes up to the refrigerator. Pull to close the valve and push to open. I bet it is in the open position if you have been using for water in the refrigerator.

Thanks for the info,
We have been using it all summer and thought it may have something to with the ice maker. Thanks again!

I winterize mine by pulling antifreeze in through the water dispenser. Once that happens I turn to ice maker on and let it go through a couple of cycles to make sure there's enough in there.
I blew the lines out one time and obviously didn't get all the water out of the supply line and busted the valve on the back of the fridge.

Thanks for the info, we blew out the lines about a week ago, then ended running the antfreeze thru the lines today. Ran it thru the ice maker for two cycles. Thanks , I'm sure you saved me a big headache. Thanks again!!

Yeah I didn't notice it until I walked back inside and saw "THE FLOOD" LOL. I couldn't yell loud enough to my DW to turn it off.

Glad it helped LR

Yes that is correct valve is for ice maker only. I live in south texas so no need to winterize here.
