2011 Encounter cable and satellite - tailgater

New to the Encounter. Looking forward to the initial trip.

If I hook up my tailgater satellite to the external cable hookup, will it work?

Do I need to run additional wiring to accomplish this? I can't believe it doesn't have the dual cable/satellite hookup.

If there are no splitters (for other TV's, etc.) between the outside cable connection and the SAT Receiver antenna input it will work fine. Splitters on the SAT Receiver output side will not affect viewing.

Do you have a sat input? If not you will need to remove your cable from the antenna box and push the button on so the green light goes out. Hook the sat input up to the connection you just removed. That will go to sat input to you sat box. Then from sat box tv out will go to tv input, the one wire you took off from the antenna. You will need one connector to connect the tv and sat out. Male to male . I hope this helps and not to confusing.

Thanks. The TV jacks are not accessible in the Encounter. It is enclosed in a cabinet. I will have to take several screws out to release the tv and access the tv jacks. All good in learning about your new motorhome.

So your tv amplifier is inclosed? It should be in an area to push the button for aerial or cable. Connect the cable from that to your sat tv out cable. No need to remove tv to hook up the cable. You have a cable hooked up already. Let me know if i can help. Pm me with # and i can call you if that will help.

My tv is enclosed. I have access to each of the white yellow and red cables, but that's it. No access to any hookups. So we hooked up the white yellow and red inputs to our satellite box and brought a cable wire through a window from the tailgater into the satellite box. Cheesy way to go, but it works and will do for now. We are on our maiden voyage on the north shore of Lake Superior. Long ways from Denver
