2013 F R Leprachaun 317sa fuses

Found two 5 amp in line fuses within the driver side door step while running sirius antenna wire.
Why would any fuse be located in such an obscure location rather than within a fuse box? I haven't a clue as to what they protect?
any ideas?

I have a Leprechaun 319DSF. My two 5A fuses in the under-step battery compartment go to the electric step and the CO2 alarm. I take them out during the winter to save the house batteries. Don't know why they are installed there unless it is to remind you to disconnect them to reduce battery drain.

Contact Ron Ross at Coahmen and ask for a chassis wiring diagram.
