2016 Mirada electric entry steps

Is there a way to keep the steps from working when you open the door? What will happen when I park next to a curb? Will the step hit and auto back up or break something? I know pulling the fuse is an option. Thanks in advance.

Contact Nate at FR Coachmen. You can find his address under contacts for service questions in the Coachmen web site.

Not familiar with the Mirada but on my Concord there is an override switch for the steps. If they are out you turn the switch off and they will stay out. Mine also has as safety override, if the steps are out and you turn the ignition on it will pull the steps in even if the switch has them locked in the down position.

According to the LCI website they do have an override sensor if they hit something.

I would think that Coachmen would have used a similar system on the Mirada.

FWIW my override switch is in the panel right by the stepwell.

All of the above is assuming you have the LCI Tread Lite Power Steps.

I have a 2016 mirada and there should be a button right inside the door that disables them from moving evertime you open the door. The only time they will come in is when you start your coach.

On my 2013 I've parked where they only partially extended. No harm done, they stopped at the obstruction and they retracted correctly when we went back in and started up.

If you turn off the switch inside the door the steps will come out when you open the door and stay out. In its stock configuration there is no way to keep the steps from extending... only to "lock" them out. I assume it's a "safety feature" to keep you from exiting the door and falling on the ground.

Pashooter, you are correct I should have been clear. You can not lock them in, only in the out position.
