2017 coachmen freelander 27qb power problems

Too our coachmen out on maiden voyage. No problems until I unhooked from shore power, lost the ac, microwave and 2 different plugs in the coach. The generator was started and everything came on.
No breakers tripped or fuses blown. Everything returned when plugged back into shore power

All those run on 110 volts. When you started up the genny, those came back on since the generator powers the unit on 110 volts.
Dealer should have gone over that with you on the PDI.

All is well

Like DaGrinch said. You're going to also lose the TV. If you are set up on 110V power on the water heater and refrigerator, they will switch to propane, although you may have to press some buttons or switches to get them there. When the generator comes on, there will be a short (~5 second) delay before the 110V kicks in. You should hear a click from the electrical panel.

It's also a good time to access the condition of your batteries. Not so much how old they are but what the voltage is. I see you've got a 2017 Freelander so the batteries should be new - doesn't mean they are fully charged, however.

Also have a 27QB. We turn the fridge off when traveling and place a 1/2 bag of ice in freezer and refrig. This prevents it from running on propane while driving. Once we get to the RV park, we run the fridge off the 30 amp shore electricity.

Thanks for the replies. We are new to this rv stuff, I just retired. Took it out on the maiden voyage shakedown last week. From texas to Colorado to Oklahoma and back home.
What about a inverter to run all the 110 stuff, probably need a heavier alternator.

And more batteries... power costs. What 110 stuff do you want to run and when? Solar can overcome some of it, but it costs too.
