Gents: Sorry for this very long message but I live in the Dallas Ft. Worth area and spent several weeks last summer trying to find a place to align my fifth wheel. It wasn't easy but I found THE place. I have no interest in these businesses, I was just a frustrated RV owner looking for help. Skip to the end if you just want the name. What follow's is my story about how to get a trailer aligned in Dallas Ft. Worth area.
Last summer I was also looking for someone to do a frame alignment on my Wildcat 295rsx. The RV dealers all just wanted to sell and install the LCI Correct Track system and I didn't want that. The maintenance shop I use didn't have the equipment to do it so they recommended a shop in Denton. I called that shop and they recommended another and that shop didn't do trailers so they recommended Dallas Frame & Alignment on Fabens Rd (in Dallas close to I-35, I635 area).
Dallas Frame offers a free alignment check (even for large trucks and trailers). I went there and was pleased that they are setup to easily pull a fifth wheel into their large bay and alignment rack. They did my check while I waited. They confirmed that my alignment needed adjusting but couldn't complete the job and sent me back to my maintenance guy to have a bearing repack done first because the wheels need to be tight and free wheeling in order to do an accurate alignment (mine were due anyway, I blame myself, should have had that done while it was at the maintenance shop.
I took it back to my guy, had the repack done, and called Dallas Frame for a time to return. Unfortunately, their guy that did trailer alignments quit in the interim since I was there (nice and talented guy, I later learned of the personal reasons beyond his control that required him to abruptly leave). This was July 2017 last year. Dallas Frame may have a new trailer alignment specialist by now, I haven't talked to them recently.
The manager at Dallas Frame apologized for not being able to complete my alignment and said it would be a few weeks until they hired a new tech. So that I wouldn't have to wait on them, he recommended another shop (Central Texas Frame and Alignment) and said he knew them and they did excellent work.
Kind of discouraged because I really liked what I saw at Dallas Frame. I decided to do some more research. I saw this youtube where Sunshine Service in Sparks Nevada demonstrates using "Hunter" alignment equipment to align a travel trailer. Youtube link:
Sunshine Trailer Alignment.
But since I wouldn't be going to Nevada anytime soon, I found the contact info for Hunter Alignment equipment and sent them an email asking for a shop in the Dallas area that uses their equipment. I got a reply from the Regional Sales Manager and he said there is only one in the entire DFW, South Oklahoma, Western Arkansas area. Turned out that he said to go to the same one that Dallas Frame said to go to, Central Texas Frame & Align.
I called Central Texas Frame & Alignment and spoke with the technician that does Travel Trailers and Fifth Wheel's. He said if I could give him a few days notice, he'd make sure he could do it while I wait (although he said be prepared for a 3 or 4 hour wait). Estimated costs vary by complexity. The low end is a simple axle alignment to the high side is issues such as suspension parts replacement or bracket welding etc., 3 axles vs. 1 or 2, etc. The spread he quoted me was a range of $750 to $1,600. Two experts now recommended the same place and after a phone call with the tech, I now know where I'm going as soon as the weather warms up.
"Central Texas Frame & Alignment" recently changed their name, here's their website link: (
