Block heater on 2013 SportsCoach?

I was reading a thread over on irv2.com about block heaters.

I haven't seen anything in any of my documentation about a block heater for the Cummins 6.7 340 hp.

Anyone know if they come with a block heater... and if so, how to activate it? (don't want it on if not necessary by hitting an umarked switch)

Thanks in advance,
Mal

Can't help you regarding the block heater Mal but you did walk me through changing my base plate from one jeep to another. Thank you for that. I plan to make the change this weekend and looking forward to the project actually.

Sorry for the highjack. Roll

Although I unfamiliar with the install in a class A, every diesel I have seen with a block heater had a 110v cord that had to be plugged in. From my pick-up to semi's the general set-up is the same. In other words, I think there would be a 110v male end cord exiting your engine bay at some place.

In case you haven't confirmed it yet, there is not a block heater in the cummins 340.

Never confirmed... But suspected. Not overly concerned, my Duramax has the same grid heater on the intake and I've started that motor at 10 below without plugging in!

I didn't have any problems last winter. Also put on almost 5,000 miles this past month king from Michigan to LA be Grand Canyon and returning by way of Route 66 during the western heat wave 110+ in AZ and CA deserts. No issues. Only one time did engine temp gauge go past midpoint. I was impressed.

Still have some coach issues though.

Excellent!! Not sure if I told you, but I replaced the shower head in ny shower and it made an incredible difference! Even the hot water heater is working better!

I tow a small Chevy Cruze... In 100 degree heat going up a 5% grade for 3 miles, the temp will go to 212 - 214, then the fan will come on and the temp will drop right back to 190. I set the information center up to monitor turbo psi, engine temp and transmission temp.

Good to hear your coach performed well.

Mine is going into Dylan's RV in NJ next week to have the pull out kitchen cabinet fixed (it locks in the out position, not in the in position) and some of the LED lights are out on the awning.

Mine locks in both positions.

You have the upgraded model with LED cupholder and awning lights. Is yours an 'Elite' model or just the upgraded trim package?

Hmmm... Not sure. What else does the "elite" model provide?

I have an outside 32" tv too.

Show off. It makes for a nice picture with your kids watching it.

Not sure. I saw one in the storage yard last week. It looked very similar but had 'Elite' on the back cap. I ws going to take a closer look today but it wasn't there.
