bumped mirror with 50,000sqft building

Convex mirror on bottom shattered, housing and flat mirror fine.

Anyone found a source and had success just replacing the convex mirror?

Well, case solved. Velvac does offer replacement of mirror parts so you don't have to buy the entire unit. The Convex mirror is on it's way overnight at a cost of $70. A lot for a mirror but better than the $300 to $400 for a complete shell I thought I would have to buy.

Overnight is another matter but I need it now. Which by the way, is a phrase my DW finds easy to ignore when I suggest the same to her.

Gary and I won't be able to talk that way if she ever starts reading these forums.

I was thinking there was just a post on one of the other brands about someone busting the same part of the mirror. It sounds like Velvac is on top of their game.

Did the replacement just this weekend while out at a State park with friends. Took longer to get the step stool out of the basement then it did to replace the mirror.

Velvac is on my preferred parts provider list now. Slick way to set up a mirror and makes replacement of a single pane easy.

Also discovered in the process that I can adjust the housing by loosening the three set screws that hold it, adjust the position and tighten them up again. I have never been able to get enough movement out of the convex mirror to see all of the highway I wanted to see but with a slight adjustment of the housing I can now get the coverage I wanted out of the convex mirror without an loss of coverage in the flat mirror. So this lesson cost me $70 and shipping (not too bad). About 20% of my motorcoach training has had some cost attached.

I hit a Pennsylvania tollbooth with mine last year and lost mine. I just replaced it with one I bought at Walmart for a few bucks. It works better than the original.
