And the 6.0 does not come with the Allison trans only the duramax. Many people get confused by this because it's a six speed and they automatically thinks it's the Allison buts it's not. Kinda how everyone thought when GM released the 8.1 liter back in 2001 everyone thought it was the famous 502ci but it was not

This is not true in California. My 2500 with 6.0 gas had a Allison transmission. I know because it said Allison Transmision on the hood.

Igray was that a typo?? I just bought 2015 2500hd with the 6.0 gasser last week. Not overly concerned with Reported poor MPG but should haul my 6500 #TT. Didn't you mean 3/4 not 1/4.

I have a '13 Savana 2500 6.0L with 6 speed towing a 32' Rockwood that's 8600 dry and 7 people in the van with all our crap. We've put thousands of miles on that drivetrain towing and it holds up it's end of the bargain. We've towed through the Smokies and all over Michigan without issues. I'm with Youroo on this one...it is a solid drivetrain.

Yes and the combination you are describing is closely equivalent to a 33 foot Class C itself. Most folks that own a Class C plan on towing small car and need a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs. or more. Not going to get that on a 33 foot Coachman Concord Class C with a Chevy 6.0L.

If you already knew the answer why did you bother to ask?

Did you buy the truck used? My father in law has a 06 2500hd and someone added the vortecmax badge on his truck that he bought used. The vortecmax badge was only a badge used in half tons that came with the 6.0. I would do some more checking but if your truck is used then I'm 100% sure it's not an Allison trans. If you bought your truck brand new then well i guess I'm wrong. I worked in a fleet garage where we had A LOT of 3/4 and 1 ton GMs with the 6.0 and the six speed and not a single one was a Allison nor was the Allison an option. Not trying argue or cause a problem. I just dont want you to think you have something when you may not.

Lol!! Thats what i thought. I have a whole file cabinet full of emblems and name plates, from cars ive worked on. I can make your vehicle anything you want it to be
Someone could have swapped the hood or doors....on the 07 and up hd chevys, the chrome nameplate pops off and has a couple screws under it. If its a double side taped emblem, like they had on the earlier trucks on the door, then somebody put it there.

Easy to check the trans., allisons have a spin on filter.....cant miss it

You and I both know if it truly has a 6.0 then I'd doesn't have an allison transmission.
