Chrome Rim Trim Rings

I have searched high and low, but most of the responses are for other motorhomes. They might be similar, but after reading many threads, none of the solutions seem to work with the trim rings I have. I need to figure out how to get them off a 2014 319DS Leprechaun. I have tried looking for/removing fake lug covers, slightly prying the edges, etc, but cannot figure out how to get them off. I need to air up the tires and one of with the extension holders came off and the only way to get it back in place is to remove the trim ring.

Below is a picture of my current trim ring/wheel combo. Anyone who has removed them, any help is appreciated.

I think that looks like my Freelander. I believe you can pry the dress cover off like a hub cap at the outer edge. I will look at mine tomorrow in the daylight.

You might want to use Coachmen's contact info from their website and ask your question. Ronald Ross has been very helpful when I had a couple of questions during my back-up camera installation. He always replied within one or two business days. Include your model and vin number so he can find your unit in their records.

They pry off like a hub cap. If you can get close to where the dogs hold onto the inner steel rims you can work it loose. The edges do bend easily so don't get too rough with it. I have the same MH, 2014 319DS & went thru the same struggle to install the extenders on the outer tires to air them up.

Yeap - pop them off like hubcaps. Much easier in my opinion to air up the inner tires. They do bend easy so be careful there. Large screw driver works but small pry bar worked better. Tap them back on with a rubber hammer...or your tennis shoes when sitting on the ground, using both feet to hold in place and tap with third foot.

They look a lot like the wheel covers on my Mirada. If they are the same then there are 2 or 3 of the fake lug nuts that are not as fake. Two ways to tell, look at the nuts and you should see a line or groove on the REAL nuts. The other method, and easiest I think, is to tap them with your finger. The fake one will sound hollow while the real ones won't. Just remove the real nuts and the cover should fall off.

I got them. Thanks for the tips. I was afraid to pry them too hard and would bend them. I found a long pry bar with a wide chiseled end and the trim rings came right off. Now I can air up properly and fix the extender on the inside wheel.
