coachmen 2019 mirada

Has anyone had any trouble with the single door residential Refrigerator coming open while on the road? They have no lock on them.

The refrigerator make and model will be more helpful than the RV year and model.

I’m betting they failed to give you the lock. It’s probably a long bolt with a black handle. Look between the fridge and freezer for a threaded hole .

I have a 2015 Mirada 35LS and the lock is a bolt with a knob on the end that threads into a threaded hole between refrigerator and freezer doors.

This is what mine came with. This thing is useless. We went out and bought the baby locks and that has worked much much better.

We haven't had any problem with ours. When traveling we close the doors and screw in the lock. The doors never come open. When we put the unit in storage, we open the doors and then screw in the lock preventing the doors from closing and allowing air circulation.

2X. We have more issues with the freezer popping open WITHOUT the lock.

Yup the problem is the metal is weak and can be bent up or down depending on the weight on the door, if it bends enough it will allow it to open.

That's exactly what my 2019 35LS has.

Exactly! That lock setup is junk. It’s just tapped white metal that the bolt screws into. It will fail eventually. Got some child-proofing straps that remove when not in use. Work great ... a set of like 8 for a boy $10 on Amazon. Much more secure.
