Does anyone have or have seen the 2017.5 Sportscoach 404, 407 or 408?

Hi folks,

Have you seen and/or driven the new 2017.5 Sportscoach 404, 407 or 408? Looks like a great coach and would like to have your feedback! I really like the new design of the front cap.

It comes standard with the 340HP with 2500 tranny. As a $7000.00 option it comes with the 360HP with 3000 tranny. I know most say the bigger engine the better but what about in these coaches. Do the 404, 407 & 408 do well with the 340?

Thanks a lot

I have a 404rb 2017 with the 340HP does a good job.(much better than I would of thought) We tow a jeep wrangler. It's the old momentum game . Overall happy with the Coach. Had a share of problems like anything else new you buy.

Hi Inmocean, I was told by a regional rep for the SportsCoach that the coach is very well setup with the 340 horse Commins and Allison 2500 transmission. So I'm not at all surprised by your comment.

I orded the 407 FW with the 360 HP and the Alison 3000 and should have it mid April to early May. To say I'm eager to get it is an understatement!

Are you happy with the general fit and finish of your Coach and the way it handles on the open road?

Love the fit and finish. It's the best bang for the buck by far! Shopped for a full year traveled all over the States to find what we liked. The Sport Coach won over all. Handling now that's a another story. When I got the coach back to home base. I noticed the rear axle was totally out of square. Freightliner sent a mobile tech to my place. Got it road ready to take, to a dealer for a alignment. Thinking they did not do a good job still pulls to the right hard!!!! I have it down in the Florida Keys now. Going to stop on way back in Ocala FL. hope they can do a better job!!!!! Word to wise check the rear tires in the wheel wells. This is our first RV so I was a bit overwhelmed with everything and did notice this on delivery.

We have the 2016 sports coach 404rb and love, love, love it. We had been looking at this online for over a year before we bought it. We had just bought a new super C but this layout fit and finish was the best that we've seen for the price so we traded. We have the 340 and tow a lifted four-door Jeep Wrangler with 35 inch tires. We have absolutely no problems towing and we live in the mountains. We are very happy with it and glad we traded in the super C!

Just drove today, a 407FW. It has the 360hp B6.7 Cummins, with the 3000MH series Allison tranny. Thought it drove and handled great!

That sounds great! I just want to say again that we love love love our 404 RB. We got it at motorhome specialists, they spent two days prepping our RV before we left. It was well worth the drive to Texas. We met other sportscoach owners and they didn't have the same experience. They had a lot of issues with their sportscoach needing repairs shortly after they purchased. They had zero prep and we're very disappointed. We are so happy we dealt with them. The price was right and the prep was priceless.

yep! pre delivery prep is worth a lot!

This will be my fourth coach from my dealer and they are excellent at taking care of all the new coach issues in PDI. Post delivery service is excellent also.

Looks like I might get this one. Will be working on the numbers this coming week with them. I'll be transitioning from a 2015 Georgetown XL 369DS, to the 2018 Sportscoach 407FW 360XCR. It's in McKinley paint, Cappuccino Cherry wood and Silver Oak cloths.
