First time out this season: pic for proof
Here we are all De-Ployed and sticking out everywhere.
We did have a good time in spite of the miserable weather. I took this shot early Sunday morning in the first sunshine we saw the entire trip. It was cold. I had the Propane tank filled up when we arrived and we used the furnace Saturday night and Sunday.
No problems; nothing discovered that needed attention. Though that won't keep me from fiddling around with stuff.
We have a 4 day weekend coming up over the Memorial Day Holiday, a week long trip to Eastern PA in June or July, and some additional 3 day weekends to keep us active in the coach.
Once I am free of the obligation to work for a living, (August) we hope to use the coach even more.

Lol...here in Florida were wrapping up our camping season. We have one trip left at the end of the month to Salt Springs (Ocala), then nothing until the first of September.
As much as I love the spring waters and snorkeling here, it's just to hot for us to sit around a camp ground.
Sept to May......those nine months are good camping for us!

Looks great and glad your spring adventure posed no problems. Speaking from experience retirement will end schedules and timetables and make being on the road so much more enjoyable.

That's why we spend summers in Michigan and traveling in the coach to wherever and the other 6 months in Trinity, Florida.

I'm starting to sense that and can't wait. Now, and for the last 20 years, I've been in a hurry. Drive fast, rush here and there, even chores like grocery shopping, mowing, wash, are all done by multitasking with a sense of urgency.
With retirement two months off I am beginning to feel myself lift off the throttle a bit. Feels good.
Thanks for the confirmation.

we ran like that for 20+ yrs. i'm 43 now and 2 yrs ago we decided to slow down and enjoy the ride. i decided that travelling around and taking my time was a good way to get to know my wife again. kids are just about on their own, so why not "date" my wife again. it's been fun! i just get tired of the rat race so i agree with you! it's a good feeling not to burn the candle at both ends! congrats!

Roll,
I spent 23 years on Fast Attack submarines, went into every ocean in existance, spent time under the north pole, yes, under..there is no land up there unlike the south pole. Retired from that figuring I would stop traveling and went into defense contracting and spent the next 15 years in special projects traveling 110 thousand miles a year on average, in 2004 became a govt intelligence analyst, my DW bought me a fine T-shirt that said "Life is short, play with your dog". I heeded that advice, slowed way down, still did my job but at a slow pace and you know what? It helped me become a specialist that others learned from. Haste and running to and fro is not as productive as people think. Now I plan to retire somewhere between September and December. Then I think I'll play with my dog full time and oh yes, do a lot of tour-camping at a slow even pace.
So Roll, slow down, do one thing at a time...slowly and enjoy that retirement. Since the DW will still be working, get a sea anchor (used to slow ships down under power heading into turbulent seas, similar to work tasks) and slow her down a bit too, she will thank you for that.
Denis (lost that other 'n' somewhere)

Thanks Denis, for sharing that and for the advice. It is good advice by any reckoning, I am sure.
I am soooo planning to take it a moment at a time. Talk about smelling the flowers, I haven't even seen them as I hurried by. Maybe someday when we are both out on the road, we'll manage to bump into each other. I bet you've got some wonderful stories to share around the campfire.

Great pictures! Looks like you're the only ones there!
I think all of us Encounter owners on here so far all have the same exterior paint scheme! Ah, such great taste, LOL!!
We stopped using the tow/haul mode when on predominately flat trips. Made the engine really over-rev/downshift. So far, found we had a better overall experience without it. Still experimenting with everything, though, so that might change.

Looking at your awning brings up a comment. A friend of mine has the same awning we have and says it dumps water automaticly when it starts to fill up.
Has anyone mentioned to you that it dumps water if it starts to fill up?

No, nobody has made that statement. The dealer mentioned that I can use an adjustment knob found on the extension arm to tilt it so that it drains but I would have to loosen the knob before retracting the awning. There is nothing in the manual that mentions anyhing about it auto draining.
