Hitch maintenence: Already?

While I was installing the BluOx hitch devices to secure the drop down receiver I noticed that two primary bolts on the hitch were loose.

I really didn't expect to have to think about, or perform, hitch maintenance this soon. This is only our third season and we haven't towed our Jeep for even half of the 9600 miles we now have on the coach.

Nonetheless the hitch was getting a bit sloppy.

See the pic below. Green arrows indicate the new securing devices I just installed; the red arrows indicate the bolts that had come loose. These I tightened up about 3/4 of a turn to take out the slack but not so tight they can't rotate or move as they should.

If you have a two or three year old hitch and haven't already checked it, you might want to do so.
