Ideas? Water pump does not want to push water out through the faucets.

Problem: Water pump runs for a second or two and quits. It does not sense an open faucet. If I release pressure from the button on the filter, the pump will run another second or two and again, quit.

I suspect a pressure lock of some type but in 2.5 years this is my first time for this problem.

I did change the filter and I tied down some of the water lines in the wet bay to keep them from vibrating against the walls or pipes. I also added a pipe from the water tank overflow line to bring the overflow line out to the side of the coach so I could more easily see the tank was full, (got tired of bending over to see if water was coming off the rear leaf spring).

Any ideas? Iíve tried turning the pump off waiting and turning it back on, no success. I do not believe there is anything wrong with the pump.

Thanks, Roll

Blockage

Sounds like you have a lock age of some kind.

Any faucet, no flow to kitchen, bath sink, toilet, or shower.

Pump worked perfectly prior to now. I don't think the pump is the problem but not sure just what the problem is.

I will check the filter as was suggested. I will also remove and reinstall both the fitting for flow in and out which might release an air pocket.

I don't believe tying down the water lines to reduce vibration should be an issue... I wonder though if adding the additional 1/2 inch PVC pipe to take the overflow line out to the side of the coach might be in issue. If water was trapped in that pipe and prevented a draw to replace what the pump is pulling out, would that stop the pump? I can't imagine it would but I'm not certain.

If everything is effected the point of commonality is the filter.

Installed upside down, maybe?

Well there is at least one problem; I didn't know the filter had a "right side up". I will certainly check that.

Thanks,

Roll

Problem solved. Water filter was upside down. (Thank you Herk.)

Which is interesting. I have changed the filter 4 times before, this was the 5th time. I didn't know it had a right side up the first 4 times; I guess I just "happened" to get it right... until yesterday that is.

Thanks, I was not sure if the canister you had was the one with the rubber check valve.

We had some sort of vapor lock last year and it took my DH about 3 hours (and a long time on the phone w/the dealer) to fix. Of course, this was right before a trip where we'd have no hookups for a long weekend. Murphy's Law!
