Install hardwired Surge Guard: Done

Finished it up, mostly, today.

Still have to run the control panel wiring to the coach interior and mount the control panel. But otherwise it's installed and working correctly as far as I can tell. Turned out like many of my projects, looks "simple and quick" but turns out to be "not quite simple and definitely not quick".

Looks good. I have the portable unit and just got the plug and receptacle in to mount inside. If I ever sell the MH, I can remove it a take it to the next one. Wasn't by design, I just happen to have the portable from a previous Class C.

By the way. what is the round device with the motor on top? Just curious.

It's an auto wind cable container. The 50A cable is stored in the bottom and the mechanism on top houses the gears and motor to wind out the cable or pull it in. The cable curls in the container automatically as it is pulled in.

Store

I wasn't happy with the cable laying on the floor of the compartment, wanted to use that space for storage. Glendinning products are not inexpensive but they are well made and dependable.

If we trade rest assured the Cable Master and the Surge Guard will be staying with us; the new owners will have to find their own path.

If you are looking for a wiring pic this might be of more help. Transfer device on left, Surge Guard on right.

Thanks Roll, never would have guessed that was a cable reel. First time I have seen one like that. Thanks again.
