Leprechaun insulation
My wife and I are considering buying a 311FS Lepreachum. Since we most of the time would use it during winter as snowbirds in TX and LA, how well insulated are the Lepreachun? What is your experience as Lepreachun owner?

If in the brochure it is not listed as "all season" or "four season" (heated holding tanks, R factor walls at least 11, roof and floors at least 24 - 25, etc.), then it probably will not do well in below freezing weather.

We may be of help here.
We purchased our Leprechaun 319DS on a Ford chassis seventeen months ago, and it's a 2016 model year. The odometer has just over 12,000 on it, and we've spent well over 175 nights in the motorhome (retired). Currently, we have been camped in Texas on the Mexican border (SW side of Mission) since Thanksgiving week, and most days have been 80 degrees plus, with several in the 90's. There is no shade, aside from two palm trees on our lot, and the AC has never had difficulty keeping the coach nice and cool inside, nor does it have to run all the time.
Conversely, we've camped a number of nights when the temp was below freezing, including the upper teens. We have tank heater pads, and used them, and the furnace always keeps us nice and warm, cycling as normal.
Usually, though, we've used the heat pump in lieu of the furnace, but once the temp falls below 25-30, the heat pump doesn't keep the coach quite as warm.
In summary, our Leprechaun is everything we had hoped for, and more. We'll spend the winter in south Texas (4 months), return home, and camp 2-3 weeks each month during the remainder of the months, and return here next November. My wife and I have a hundred pound Lab, and the three of us are always comfortable in this coach.
Happy camping!

Thank you for this information. It's very helpful to hear from personal experience.
Where in Mission are you staying? How do you like it? We are heading to Harlingen next month but are exploring other options for the future. Right now in Victoria.

We are at Bensten Palm Village RV Park, and it's a tremendous location. Quiet, dark at night, safe, and never-ending things to do for those who want to partake. The National Butterfly Center is a quarter-mile away, and The World Birding Center at Bensten State Park is right next door. The sites are large (we are on a super-site), beautifully landscaped, and the large dog park is a real winner for us.
We'll return in November of this year, and we're already anxious to, even though we're still here! (2500 S. Bensten Road, Mission, TX Check out their website, too)
