Locking gas cap?

I'm concerned about the easy access to 55 gallons of gas on my Freelander. Has anyone installed a locking gas cap? recommendations?

If theft is a problem in your area install one and post a pic to the forum

You didn't indicate what chassis your Freelander is built on. Having that information, you should be able to find one here:

Stant

I called Stant and they need to know if I have a threaded cap or a clicking one. I can't remember (only filled it up twice so far as it's new! haha!). It's a 2016 Coachmen Freelander Class C with a Ford e-350 chassis. Anybody know? I'm not near mine and can't check.

When I had the Jayco on a Ford chassi, I bought one for that ford chassi. There has been some reports of getting some kind of warning lights with them. I never got one but if you do, just take the cap off and reinstall it. It should clear it. Our newer coachmen has a locking access door so I don't need one now. I put it on my Ford ranger now. It is a clicking one that I have.

On my '16 Coachmen Pursuit, the gas cap is exposed so I put a Gates #31836 on and works just fine. There is a Stant equivalent but I just went with Gates. Take your cap off and look at the thread pattern and see if you can match it that way.

gascap Pursuit 30fw

I also wanted a locking gas cap, went to the local autoparts and asked for a gascap for the 2017 Ford f53, and it was instock, I removed the stock cap holder and screwed it to the locking cap and it works fine, no warning lights
