Mirada Ceiling Rattle

On our 2015 Mirada 35LS, when the front A/C is on we get a rattle at the front of the ceiling. Tech said he thought it was caused by a loose wire for satellite service. Also said there was no way to get at it from inside but said there is an access plate on the roof that might allow me to get to the satellite wiring. I found the access plate but to get it off I'll have to scrape off a lot of sealant. Has anyone had a similar problem or have you ever removed that access plate (up front on the roof). If you did remove the plate what could you see.

On mine (2001 Mirada), when I removed that plate, I could see the inside behind the cabinets. I removed my old roof satellite and put a blank metal patch over the hole.

If you have overhead cabinets above the driver seat, see if you can remove the back wall of the inside of the cabinets, this should expose the wiring behind them.

It won't do MACH 2, but I can get a sandwich and take a pee.

Thanks - I do see an access panel in both driver & passenger overhead cabinets. After we get home from Disney I'll remove one and see if I can get to the offending wire.

Funny - I had a local shop change my engine and generator oil & filters and I happened to mention the rattle to them. When I got it back, they said the radio antenna had been laying on the roof (that's the way it was when I picked up the Mirada from the dealer) and they repositioned it. No more rattle.

Funny story.. I took delivery of mine this weekend. Driving home hear a knocking/rattle above me. Turns out it this antenna laying flat knocking away on the roof.

That's why I always go up to the roof before buying and accepting the unit.
