Same thing,,, only use in Old Tractor \Engines ???

Ive never used it in anything. Others might have a different opinion.
If you have a leaky seal, an additive isnt going to fix that.

Thanks again Kenny,,, I have been using Mobil 1 now for a few years !!!
I think it only a couple bucks more ???

I have always been one to over service things,,, I am a big believer in Lub & Service,,, & preventive maintenance of every thing I own !!! I change the filters & oil in my lawn tractors way before the recommendations !!! But maybe I dropped the ball on our V-10,,, we have a 2013 Sunseeker that we bought new in 2014,,, so it is really 3 years + old,,, we have just under 4K miles on it and the original oil !!!
Which I will be changing before our first trip this year !!!

For the Ford recommended oil change frequency see the Scheduled Maintenance Section of your Ford Owners Manual. For the 2016 chassis the E-450 chassis the manual states:

NORMAL SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE

Every 7500 miles (12000 km) or six months (whichever comes first)
Change engine oil and filter.
Rotate tires*, inspect tire wear and measure tread depth.
Inspect wheels and related components for abnormal noise, wear, looseness or drag.
Perform multi-point inspection (recommended).

* Vehicles with dual rear wheels should rotate the front wheels when specified; rear wheels only if unusual wear is noted.

It's interesting they don't recommend regular rotation of the rear duals...

My thoughts are than 7500 miles is to far,,, 5000 would be max for me,,,
But I think 6 months is to soon,,, for us that could be ever 2000 miles !!!
Not arguing with FORD,,, they know a hell of a lot more than I do !!!
I have been buying FORDS since 1962 !!!

If you change the oil and park it there is no reason to change the oil in the spring. Keep the oil changed and you will be fine. The 6 month limit is for short trippers (like me) who only drive 4K miles a year. That builds up a lot of moisture which leads to corrosion and acidic elements in the oil. Changing the oil and parking it for 5-6 months will not hurt anything.

Then again, $100k for a MH.........one extra $40-$50 oil change a year is nothing.

F250 diesel is almost 3 months old and had an oil change at 7600 (almost 9000 now). At the dealer $140.46. Book says 10,000 max but an alert popped at around 7400, probably due to towing. Onboard computers know all today, which is a good thing.

What makes since to me is to change oil & filter every Spring before first trip !!!
Even thow it may only have 2 or 3k miles on it !!!
I am sure not going to change it in the Fall,,, and then let it set for 6 months,,,
so I can change it again ??? If you change it every 2 or 3k miles,,, maybe you could change the filter every other time ??? But what the H,,, your only is saving $4
I am guessing our 2013 takes 7 Qts ???

Why not take a shower and put on yesterday's underwear? Of course you should change the filter every time you do an oil change.

You are right,,, but back in the day they only changed the filter every other time,,, of course the filter was much larger than what we use today !!!
And oil was changed every 3k !!!

I see there are many GM autos that use a filter that is the same size as my lawn tractor,,, that only holds about 2 Qts ???

If I were going to change oil every 2k,,, I would be tempted to change the filter ever other time !!!

Automotive oil filters have an "engineered" life of 3-5,000 miles. A little higher for automotive diesels. Any major brand has a by-pass valve but at that point you are not filtering anything. The problem is the oil left in the filter. Are you going to contaminate you new oil? Absolutely.
On big rigs depending on engine and use, we sample every 8-10k, Change filter, top off oil. Change oil (30-50 qts,)20-30k miles or if we get a funky sample.

I can buy Motorcraft filters for our F-150 & our V-10 for less than $4,,, Motorcraft filter for the EDGE is about $5.50,,, filters for my lawn tractors are $10 ???


One of my tractors says oil every 50 hours,,, and filter every 100 hours,,,
That is WAY to long for me !!!
