Receptacle in entertainment front section

2016 concord 300ds
There is a receptacle looking plate with a 12v adapter. Male coax connection and a small button to push in or out.

May I ask if any one knows what this is and how it works.

That is the power button for your OTA(Over The Air) amplifier. An LED will come on when it is powered up. You only need it when using the antenna. It should be off for cable and satellite use.

The booster seems to help but there is nothing screwed onto the male coax adapter on the front of the receptacle. What would that be used for?

air tv. antenna. coax line would run from that to your tv when using old school antenna tv. once hooked up would have to program tv to scan for air/antenna channels.

The whole assembly is a left over from the 70's. They just use it because it is cheap and readily available. No need to hook the TV directly to it.

You do know you that you need to set each TV for Air and run a channel scan? Also the antenna can be rotated to help pull in some weaker channels. We typically get 25-40 OTA when camping in our regular areas. I use an app like DTV Antenna to find the closest stations and which way to point the antenna.

The 12V outlet can run a TV so equipped and son-in-law plugged in an inverter to run a laptop all day while driving. That plate also switches from the outside antenna and cable from the back. There are some rigs with special setups and/or a separate switch box so post pictures of you think something is different in your rig.
