Sportscoach Cross Country 405FK & 406QS
My wife and I are considering trading in to a 405FK or 406QS
if anyone has one can you tell us
likes
dislikes
issues
Factory service or if you have even needed it (is it as good as the rest of the Forest River Factory Service) we have had great results on our Georgetwon
handling
fuel consumption
anything you can tell me really would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance

I am 'assuming' no one has/had any issues with either coach. I am going to take that as a good thing

No one said "DON'T DO IT!"
So we traded our Georgetown in on a Sportscoach Cross Country 405FK today!
Really pleased with deal, got a FANTASTIC price.

Thanks
Exterior is Upgraded Red October W/Double Clear Coat
Interior is Sherwood & Cognac Maple (real deep brown)
We liked the 405 'much' better than the 406 once we saw them in person

Thanks,
We have about 10,000 miles plus planned for this year, maybe more....we should be very very comfortable
Shakedown next weekend and first longer trip in about 7 weeks...headed to JAWjuh (Georgia)
It's a great color scheme, that will be on the highway 'tomorrow' We will close on it this evening and PDI tonight and tomorrow.
one of the big selling points was the full flat floor walk around bed in the master. The fireplace was also a big hit. The Sherwood interior we weren't too sure about until we saw it in person, great color.
Also looking forward to a little more quiet ride up front

We looked at that same floorplan (and loved it - it's the same as Fleetwood's 40X). The Sportscoach we saw was an early 2010 model I think, so before they started putting them on the raised rail chassis, which is like night and day. I liked that model closed for travel too - still had room.
Lots of bang for the buck in these coaches now. Sounds like you're in for quite a ride! Best of luck!

Same reason we ended up with our current ride. I have the same interior as the 2012/early 13 Sportscoaches, with all the hardwood, tile, blackout shades, etc. (plus we made some mods pre-delivery to our interior; and I switched out our awning for a solid color acrylic one, etc.). Even with all the mods we made, still was at a great price-point.
Just missed out on the residential fridges, which is my only regret. No other gas rig at the time had anywhere near these features when we purchased. The Georgetowns also provided similar upgrades about a year later (I love the "black diamond" interior option on them this year).
Coming up on 2 years of ownership this summer. In about 4-5 years, we may decided to get a diesel, but will see when the time comes. We're only vacationers so not sure what will be to our liking then. (I have my eye on an Entegra Anthem or American Coach Revolution, while my wallet just laughs at me!)

We traded our Georgetown (bunk model) in on this one. Georgetown was/is very nice. We had plenty of room, just have a good bit more now.
My brother had an American Eagle at one time....they loved it.
My wallet would convulse, my bank account would revolt and my wife would shoot me.
maybe we'll see you on the road sometime.....where are you from?

Snowy, Polar-Vortexed New Jersey. 60 degrees here today before we plunge back in the low teens next week. Much rather be just about ANYWHERE else!

with that weather 'anywhere else' would be a good place, so I won't tell you that it will be in the 70's here this weekend....wouldn't want to spoil your day.
My wife is originally from North Dakota 'THE ORIGINAL' frozen tundra! So I can relate.
I think we are looking at coming up to the North East next spring or fall, she has always wanted to see those season changes up there.

It ours...I own it. Great coach so far. We spent the night at the dealership. ..did an extensive PDI using one of the checklist found on this site. The techs went overboard helping us. This is our third purchase from this dealership......can't beat the experience.

Beautiful coach!
If you don't mind me asking, what brand and style wheels are they? We are looking at some aluminum wheels for our new coach and that is the style I like.
Thanks

Thanks very much
I will have to get back to you on the wheels, I didn't look and didn't think to ask....they are a dealer upgrade that were already on the coach

I think if they are alcoa or accuride there should be a sticker or label somewhere on the wheel.
If alcoa, if they are their dura-brite line it will be a black printed label, if they are their polished line it is a blue print label.
I started shopping for some wheels last week and of course nobody has any in stock to compare or look at. They are pretty pricey to just order on a whim.
Thanks for the help!
