Strong gasoline odor!!
This is my 3rd attempt to post!...no idea where the other ones went, probably floating in cyber space!
However I be-leave I have a unique situation, & I'm at my wits end!
I own a 2014 Coachman Concord, 300TS, c/w an Onan 4000kw gasoline gen. set.
When we are dry camping & run our generator for an hour or more at one time, ... all is well. However, after shutting down & after a period of 5 to 10 min. a very strong gasoline smell is evident around the MH, inside & outside (windows closed), this lasts for approx 15 min.
Now for the crunch, this will only happen if our fuel tank in the MH is more than approx 3/4 full!
I have checked for leaks & or staining around the onan carberator & followed the fuel line all the way to the top of the fuel tank, NO LEAKS. I even used my remote camera to reach above the tank & the MH floor, ... NOTHING visible!!
My background is a machinist by trade, quite mechanically inclined & do most of my own servicing etc, but this one has me stumped!
I talked with the local onan dealer & they say bring it in for a check-up, this would probably be very expensive.
I'm sure your wondering why I haven't gone to my dealer for warranty, well I would rather not discuss that as I found them as useless as #&%$@.
I also have not been in touch with any one at the factory as of yet; I would like to, but don't know whom I should speak with, a name & number would be very much appreciated.
Better yet, maybe someone out there knows what the problem is!!!

Just a shot in the dark but check the evap canister for loose fitting or bad hose. I believe it is located inside one of the frame rails if you have an e450.

Even the slightest leak would throw an engine light.

Check oil in gen, see if it smells of gas. with the gas we have now and the right conditions with heat/run time, may be boiling out some gas from gen. Just a thought, but easy enough to rule out!

Suggestion:
Check the fitting on your onan fuel pump. It looks like this:

If you are under warranty you go right to Cummins and not to or through your RV dealer.
They will require a copy of your bill of sale to establish your beginning of service / warranty period date.
If you don't have an extended plan, consider Cummins extended plan. Being a cash customer with them is like being a cash customer at the hospital - a giant ouch.

If your generator is an Onan Cummins they are the only authorized service center warranty work. They have a dedicated power generation service crew for all of their generators.
We've been to Cummins NE in Buffalo. Outstanding folks in a nice facility.

Yes, I read that. The pickup for the genset is at the 1/4 mark. When you fill the tank you increase the pressure to everything that is below the horizontal plane of the full mark.
That would include your chassis system and genset system. It does not take much of a fuel leak to stink the joint up.

X2
My experience was with the ABQ service center. They are the ones that documented the Coachmen installation problem that was causing the overheat issue.
And here is a link to their CoachCare network.
