You should have had him for breakfast. I had bear backstrap for the first time last week. It was damn good too. It wasn't greasy like everyone told me it's was going to be.

Wow! That's a big dog... I'm sure your fur beasts scared him off.

You know they are actually dangerous. Be careful.

We have had many bear encounters, mostly with grizzly and in one case a mamma and two cubs. Another time when I was in a garage with a 350 female black and only a Suburban between us.

I tell my wife... they will attack without provocation, (grizzly).

That's a black but can still kill or maim in minutes.

Roll and I've gotten used to seeing your posts, would hate for that to stop for the wrong reasons.

Thank you for your concern and sage advice. When we chose to live in the old Picayune Strand we knew that we would be sharing our land with the original occupants. We have other fairly large predatory animals that live on or pass through our "yard". We participate in the FWC tracking program and have game cameras to document who's who. We also have our resident alarm (Larry)
who honks and screeches when anyone or anything ventures too close. He spends the night in the live oak in front of the house. This pic was taken just after the bear photo and he was still carrying on. He is wild and looks to be about a 12 lb + fellow and with a full train is about 6' long. Some of our other "neighbors" are just as dangerous as the bear. You just have to be aware.

I'm sure they would. They made quick work of a lion and a bunny...
