While checking the water level in my house batteries I found a multi-connector wire laying on top of them broken off. It appears to have a diode connecting the three wires together, the wire is flat and grey, anyone have any idea what this is/does?
Is there a battery monitor indicator in unit. Possibly wiring for a battery monitor sender that is not installed. But still should be insulated better than that.

I think FlyBob is on to something, I started checking manuals and the Magnum Energy system has a battery temperature sensor, looking at the unit I think I have found the other end, now to find out what repairs will be required, thought I would try contacting Magnum for help, thanks everyone!!!
I don't think it has been bypassed, I think that is the thermal sensor (thermister probably). I would double check with magnum to be sure. I would at the very least put some tape on it to stop it from shorting if it touches something. Be careful if you put heat shrink on it, if it is a thermister they can be damaged with to much heat. See picture of a glass bodied thermister here Axial Leaded Glass NTC Thermistors High Temperature Sensors-AMWEI Thermistor
