Just installed last week. Will be going out here in a couple of weeks. Will be testing on some 7% grade hills with my toad hooked up. If you don't mind what did an alignment cost you so I can get an idea.

The alignment was done at Northtrail RV, a high end RV dealership. The base price was $200. Add the cost of shims to increase the caster and labor to re-center my Safe-T-Plus and my total tab was $275.00. The difference in handling was very noticable.

I had an alignment done at a local truck shop back when I first picked up my rig... and before I installed my Safe-T-Plus. Made a big difference. Can't recall the exact price but it was in the same ballpark as yours Duckogram.

Pretty much what I suspected.Any work done on a MH starts in the 3 figure range. Alignment check is next on my list. Thanks for sharing your costs.

Just be careful a tuner voided my warranty on my truck.

Details? The X4 tuner (one of the 5 Star options) lets you revert to the factory tune if you even need to take your rig in for service.

Just for clarity, the addition/modification of the oem PCM programming/setting
MAY void your warranty for the items directly affected by that change. There is a consumer protection law that requires the manufacturer to show how that change caused the premature failure of the affected part(s). With that being said, the cost of battling the deep pockets may cost more than fixing whats broke yourself. What it does not do is void your entire warranty so if you are confident in your ability to deal with the issue and you know where to take it for service, you will be fine.
Also noted is the vehicle and type of tune. The application of the tune on the 6.8L V-10 is quite different then the diesel application. The topic pertains to motorhomes only.

So you had "tuned" a diesel, I assume? Most diesel tunes are designed to get more power (or torque) from the engine, so I can understand the OEM being hardnosed about that. The 5-Star tune for the Ford V10 is more about changing shift points for a smoother ride, but in either case it's definitely a possibility that having installed a tune could jeopardize a warranty claim.

Had it installed last year. As I left the shop, I could immediately tell the difference in the shifting pattern. One of the better upgrades I have done .

Based on all I've read, I'm certain that you're right. Really looking forward to improved shifting qualities.
Thanks!

Just did some 7% grades on IH-10 west in the TX hill country. WOW, pulling my Jeep toad, no problem. I'm comparing this to my ex- 05 FW Storm which used to bog down and really roar over them hills. I'm glad I did the 5 Star.

Sometimes 5 Star will offer a group purchase. If there are enough people on this forum interested in buying the V-10 upgrade, maybe they will do it again.

My Pursuit is a 2016 but is built on a 2015 Ford chassis that had the 5-speed transmission.
