As mentioned might check for out side vent cover that can be snapped shut when not in use. Later RJD

Try cleaning the grease out of the filters that will provide more air flow

Yup, smoke detector right above the stove. How stupid is that. First action before cooking is to remove the battery of the smoke detector. As for the vent fan, we also have a Concord and it seems to work pretty well but the smoke detector still goes off. Not sure these vents are powerful enough. We also use a power roof vent while cooking. Helps a lot.

Just a thought and may be stupid. The hood if like mine is a 12 volt dc motor. Were the wires hooked up right ? Simple matter to reverse rotation.

I installed a SAM-1 also and we love it, much quieter. 3 speeds, led light with 2 brightness settings. Takes a little work to install, but it is worth it. I also removed the outside flapper completely.

I don't know if that SAM-1 will fit on the Concord. They have an Italian made Baraldi hood rather than the Atwood tin box model.
