Water Filler

I just bought a 2015 Coachmen Leprechaun 319DSF. When I picked it up I was told the Black Water connection (which looks like a regular plastic hose connection) was to fill the fresh water tank and the White water connection (which looks every other camper I have ever owned, city water connection, like a flower) was to flush the Black Water holding tank. Is this correct, and why would anyone do something like this?
