Weighed the coach today

Haven't weighed the coach for over a year and have added a few things so I thought it was a good time to check since we are starting on a long drive tomorrow.

Loaded for a week out with the full tank of gas and 1/3 tank of water and our cloths for the trip.

Front axle: 7020 (8000 rated)
Rear axle: 13960 (15000 rated)

Added;

Food at 100 pounds
DW 140 pounds
another 46 gallons of water at 381 pounds

Came up with 7165 on the front; 14341 on the rear for a total of 21606. Roughly 33%/66% weight distribution which I think it close to ideal.

GCWR is 26000

Looks okay to me, any concerns noted?

Gary and I could only weigh each axle; I still have not been able to find a place, shop, or person who can weight all four corners for me.

I looked at Encounters pretty seriously and the first thing that struck me was your total weight is 21606 against a GVWR of 22000,(98.2%) then I see you pull a Wrangler Unlimited Sahara (curb weight 4270 lbs) which gets you to 25876 against a GCWR of 26000. (99.5%) I'd say you're full

Yep. Time to revisit my stuff. I packed it like I would be out on the road for months. Until Cindy retires, we only do vacations, long weekends, and holidays. I need to separate the stuff we actually need from the "I am prepared for any eventuality" level of packing. Might save me 1000 pounds.

It sounds like you are in the bubble.
However, you are so close to max that you might be over on one of the corners. The only way to know for sure is to get individual wheel numbers. If you can get those it would help you balance your load as you pare down from full timer mode.

Wish I could find someone who has the equipment and is willing Duck. I tried but no luck so far.

Individual wheel weights were available last year at the Goshen Rally.
I understand they are planning on having it again.

WEIGHING

The RV Safety and Education Foundation will have individual wheel weighing service available at the FROG Rally. More information will be forthcoming.

I have heard this story before. it would be nice if a company like Camping World or some other large RV dealers would offer such a service. (even for a nominal fee) it would promote safety and education and maybe sell a few new units.

I know this is old but it might help others. FR diesel has a four corner scale and I think they weigh all of the coachman rigs at the Hively St plant. I wonder if your trip brings you close to Elkhart if it could be weighed at that plant. It might cause to much trouble for a very busy plant but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

This might be helpful for some:
Wheel By Wheel RV Weighing

Google RV Weighing Service for others

I also note that for those who don't need corners done...CAT scales are all over the place and you can find locations here:

Had our Coachmen Pursuit 31BDP weighted after the FROG rally this year on the way out and got the following weights. Unit had a full fresh water tank and both the gray and the black tank empty. Had more stuff than would normally carry if we were going for a weekend. Purchased to much stuff to take home just like last year. Also had the tow dolly and car hooked up.

Weights were by the Recreation Vehicle Safety Education Foundation.

LF=3125 lbs RF=3000 lbs Total= 6125 lbs Rating= 7000 lbs Reserve 875 lbs

LR=5500 lbs RR=5550 lbs Total= 11050 lbs Rating= 12000 lbs Reserve 950 lbs

Vehicle Gross weight 17,175 lbs
GVWR 18,000 lbs
Reserve 825 lbs.

Being the sticker in the cab area shows a CCC of only a little over 2200 lbs capacity we did OK.

The 5th wheel after us did not do so good. Front axle was good rear axle was way over and trailer sounded real close.
